Meet Karolyn

Karolyn Martin was born in Birmingham, Alabama, but as a military child, her family moved all over the country causing her to attend 12 schools before she even started high school! As a Magna Cum Laude Graduate of Appalachian State University’s Honors College, she plans to pursue a dual graduate degree (JD & MBA) and go on to work in business law to help empowered women reach their entrepreneurial goals. The scholarships she has earned allowed her to become debt free at the age of 22!

As an athlete, she has always been passionate about nutrition and wellness. So, when it came time to create her unique Social Impact Initiative she knew that is what she had to talk about. Through her time as a titleholder, she has spoken to over 2,000 students (in NC and beyond) about positive wellness, empowered several to speak up about their eating disorders and body image concerns, hosted multiple nationally attended wellness summits, and self-published a cookbook for college students! Through nutrition education and positive wellness, Karolyn has impacted the lives of thousands of people across our country.

In June of 2022, Karolyn earned the job of Miss North Carolina! Now, she plans to deepen her impact as she prepares for the job of Miss America. She knows that she will only be able to further her impact and influence with this opportunity.

Karolyn is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She loves musical theatre, cooking, and spending time with her puppy Ollie. She is so grateful to her “village” for all of their love and support.
